Dr. Kristen MacConnell
Kristen MacConnell is the recently appointed Director of the Teacher Training Center within the Principal Training Center, where she teaches courses on curriculum, assessment, project-based learning, design thinking, and teacher leadership. Prior to this, she served as the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development at Nido de Aguilas in Santiago, Chile. Kristen holds a Ph.D. in Special Education, an M.Ed in School Leadership, and a M.S. in School Psychology. She is passionate about supporting teachers and students to build a strong sense of belonging in the classroom and in school. Kristen’s work experience includes: Early Intervention Teacher, School Psychologist, School Counselor, Literacy Specialist, Field Researcher, Assistant Professor, Educational Consultant, and Assistant Director of the Early Years School at Nido de Aguilas. Kristen has presented at international conferences in Latin America, Europe and Asia. She has published for Ed Weekly’s Deeper Learning Blog, has her research published in the Phi Delta Kappa Journal, and has written book chapters on curriculum based assessment and teacher leadership.
